Our Story Genuine local & authentically rooted!

Our journey began with a vision to share the unfiltered beauty of our country’s culture and nature.

In 2018, we moved from the peaceful Islita community in southern Guanacaste to Liberia in the north, seeking new opportunities for our family and business. This transition led to the revival of Bejuco Authentic, a venture built on our passion for bringing authentic Costa Rican experiences to the world.

In 2020, we took the opportunity to manage Eco Camping Papagayo at Panamá Beach. This connected us to local communities and entrepreneurs and sparked the creation of Genuine Costa Rica. Our mission became clear: to offer travelers genuine experiences while empowering local entrepreneurs who had the potential but needed support to share their offerings.

Since then, we’ve focused on promoting sustainable tourism, helping lesser-known eco-tourism projects gain visibility, and working alongside local micro-businesses.

Today, Genuine Costa Rica represents the heart of local entrepreneurship, sustainability, and authenticity. We continue to be inspired by our roots, and through our efforts, we aim to provide travelers with experiences that honor the land, the biodiversity, and the people who call this place home.
